To lead and develop a team of ER advisors in providing a professional advice service to Managers and Headteachers. To continuously develop and maintain quality assurance measures monitoring that advice is given in a timely and accurate manner. To advise on employee relations situations and to attend meeting and hearings to support managers in dealing with these. To work closely with managers and headteachers to ensure that the service provided meets with their requirements and specific service standards. To develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Trade Unions and to undertake consultations and negotiations using the appropriate forum including attending JNCCs. In conjunction with the HR Operations Manager develop a clear working protocol between the operational team and the consultancy team to ensure that expectations of each are clear and the teams work professionally together. To contribute positively to the development and implementation of the new Modernising Core Systems (MCS) project and to review and develop systems and procedures as required. To monitor the Annual Training Plan for Centralised Education staff and ensure that actions are followed up and recorded. To assist in the developing new processes and procedures to update the service, and to respond to new central Government recommendations and changes in employment law. To take responsibility for maintaining and developing knowledge and understanding of professional HR developments. To deputise for the HR manager as required. To line manager a team of ER advisors and HR support staff . To lead and motivate the team, communicating effectively and developing the skills of the staff to meet the requirements of their roles.
